- Stuart Hello Tim, Recognition by any micro nation is unlikely to help Forvik in my view. Although there may be some who are actively trying to make a real difference, it is my perception (and I may be wrong) that most are one person wanting to be king of something. What is more helpful is the changing political climate. As scottish independence comes to the fore, Scotland and the rest of the UK have started fighting over Shetland: http://tinyurl.com/tavish-independence. Forvik has made its declaration of independence in accordance with the Motivideo Convention and other international agreements. That declaration is sufficient by itself. How we act will determine whether or not we are recognised by other nations, if that is important to us.

Stuart Yes, but I have not had time to put it up on the website. Forvik declared its full independence in March of this year. In line with the Montivideo Convention, the declaration was sent to HM The Queen, The Prime Minister, The First Minister, The President of the USA and the United Nations.
